The US Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES) supported the National Center of Education Research (NCER) as it commissioned the development of this compendium with the intent to present funded research project information in a structured, accessible, and usable manner. This compendium organizes information on the NCER and NCSER projects into three main sections: Programs and Instructional Interventions for Students, Professional Development for Teachers and Other School Staff, and Strategies for Addressing Schoolwide or Systems-Level Issues. These sections represent three key targets for research and possible intervention: the students themselves, the teachers and other school staff working with students, and the environment in which the students learn. The compendium also includes multiple appendices and an index to help readers locate specific types of information (e.g., projects that focus on English language learners, specific interventions, etc.).
